Overview of our responsibilities

SwissORGANICS represents and advocates for the cross-sector interests of businesses across Switzerland’s organic value chain. The association’s responsibilities include:

Representation of Bio Suisse licensees: This task is carried out by the Bio Suisse Licensees Working Group.

Interface between various organic stakeholders: SwissORGANICS actively supports the interests of organic businesses by serving as a link between its members, authorities, and other stakeholders. This includes regular exchanges with partner organizations and a well-established annual exchange meeting with the FSVO, FOAG, and FOPH.

Understanding of organic law: As an organization, SwissORGANICS promotes understanding of Swiss and EU organic law and actively contributes to consultations and legislative projects.

Shared vision for the future of organic: SwissORGANICS is convinced that today’s societal challenges in agriculture and nutrition can only be addressed effectively by expanding organic production and consumption.

Handling of residues: Preventing and managing residues in organic products remains a topical issue to which SwissORGANICS is dedicated with expertise and conviction. The sector guidelines on Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) for phosphine residues in organic products, published in 2020 by the predecessor association IG BIO, as well as the guidelines published in 2022 on good process and manufacturing practice for preventing and dealing with residues in organic products, are available to members. Non-members are welcome to request them from us.
